I am very excited to be starting my very first sew-along this week, thanks to Betz White's Field Study Tote sew-along. I am going to be making this gorgeous tote bag designed by this very talented lady. The pattern is very well written and clearly illustrated, and we'll see how well I do following instructions...never my strong point!Yesterday I selected all my fabrics, and had to order my zip from ebay, as Spotlight didn't have the right colour and size. So that will be arriving while I begin the rest of it...

My main fabric is from the 'Singing the blues' collection, by Jacqueline Savage Mcfee. I just can't get enough of the aqua/navy/white combination! The contrast is navy blue corduroy, and the lining is a printed aqua that I haven't checked the name of. Those cute 'D' rings are actually belt buckles, but I thought they matched perfectly, and gave a retro touch. So I started cutting it all out today, and got about half way through...check back in a few days to see how I'm going.
