Welcome to the sweetest little row of houses...Sweet Pea Lane.

Sweet Pea Lane - The best house on the street

Last week my sweet friend Kellie shared her newest pattern with me...I'd already spied it on Instagram, and thought it was the cutest project ever. Crochet, felt, and endless possibilities to customise...yes please! And that's not even the best part...

Sweet Pea Lane - Crochet Pouch

If you can spy a zip on the side of that house, you'd be right...this house is actually a clever pouch, and Kellie's pattern has instructions for three nesting pouches...yay! I know my little girl self would have gone nuts over something like this!

Sweet Pea Lane - Door bell

If you've always wanted to give crochet a go, then this pattern is just the best jumping in point, because it's just rows of single crochet, and some decreasing for the roof. Easy peasy! And then you can absolutely go to town on making your house or houses the dream cottage or lane that you've always wanted...I had fun raiding my collection of supplies for exotic trims, lace, and buttons. And sometimes you feel vindicated in holding onto that stuff...that trim under the windows is over 20 years old lol! The tiny door bell is from a pack I'd bought for Christmas decorations, that still aren't made yet...all saved for a good cause!

Sweet Pea Lane - how much is the doggie in the window

This little pooch button reminded me so much of 'how much is that doggie in the window?' and was another special piece that I'd been hoarding for ages. Here he is, with the window up, watching the world go by.

Sweet Pea Lane - Curtains in the wind

Here are the curtains blowing in the wind because some donk left the window open...I had fun selecting my smallest pin stripes for little blinds on the bottom level. Perfect coordinates for the gorgeous aqua felt from Rose Petal Collections.

Sweet Pea Lane - backing fabric

Kellie gives instructions for some sweet machine embroidery on the reverse, but I just ran out of time unfortunately! I could have gone on adding cute details for ever...but I chose to simply quilt the back of my pouch, and used a favourite aqua strawberry print that coordinated so well.

Sweet Pea Lane - Lining

For the lining I used some of Melly & Me's lovely range Mini Fun Fair, and I love that it's a light colour, which makes finding tiny treasures in your pouch much easier. And what's the perfect tiny treasure to put in your Sweet Pea Pouch?

Sweet Pea Lane - Wynne the Bunny

Why, a Wynne Bunny of course...she's the perfect size! And doesn't she look resplendent in her new dungarees! So hop on over to Craftsy, and pick up a copy of Kellie's pattern in time for Easter. And Wynne is still 15% off for a short time...
