12 Minis in 12 Months - March

Welcome to March mini quilt installment! Scroll to the bottom to enter to win your own strawberry mini...The fun of the mini quilt challenge #12minisin12months, hosted by Knot and Thread is continuing over on Instagram, and tho I missed my February mini, due to wedding organisation busyness, I did get my March mini done- a luscious strawberry to continue the fruity theme from January.This pattern is from the Farm Girl Vintage book by Lori Holt, and was a quick and easy make, perfect for a mini quilt wall, or even a mug rug.

My fabrics are a lovely scrappy mix of fabrics from Little Dolly, First Romance, Sarah Jane, Bunnies and Blossoms, with some low volume borders that come from a sweet Spotlight print.

I wanted to add an extra cute touch, so I made a couple of strawberry buttons from oven bake clay. My sculpting needs work, but overall I was pretty chuffed with how they turned out! From a distance the imperfections aren't so obvious...

They behave exactly like proper buttons, and I have plans to work on more of these, as cute buttons can be really hard to find.

And the back is a sweet strawberry print from Riley Blake. I do seem to have quite a collection of strawberry prints!I thought I'd share some of my favourites from the hashtag for you...I love the diversity of them all.
