I've been following along with Betz White's Field study tote sew-along, and having so much fun. Not many pics to share today, mostly because I kept forgetting to stop what I was doing and take pics...Here's the bones of the bag...handles sewn on, and bag hardware attached - zip and D-rings. It's proved to me just how useful interfacing is, as everything holds its shape and is so easy to assemble. So don't be lazy and scrimp out on interfacing, as you will regret it later! Your finished project will sag, and generally look less professional. This zip also didn't co-ordinate with the colours in my fabric exactly, mostly because I guess zips only come in a narrow range of colours, and then you're limited by what your sewing shop has on offer, or if you buy online, it can be hard to see the true colour anyway. I ended up getting all my bag hardware from ebay, and it's beautiful!
Here she is in all her inside out glory...lining and bag sewn together, waiting to be turned through. I totally surprised myself by matching all the seams up the first time...that never happens!
Stay tuned for my finished bag...if you follow me on instagram, then you'll see the completed pics.
